Why am I getting iMessages in my email

I just got a new email. The iMessage works fine for some people but not for people who are new to texting me. They come to my email application as an email with an attachment of an image. It is very weird. This has never happened before?

That hasn't happened to me in a long time but it used to happen when I had iMessage set up on all my devices, especially on my iPad. Ever since I turned off imesssage on my iPad it hasn't happened again. Maybe you can try signing out of iMessage on all your devices and resigning in to see if that fixes it.
