Point isn’t about any of those OSs. Point is that Apple’s apparent revolutionary advances are anything but. I do also welcome a major platform adopting gestures as the native navigation system. I am very happy about it and hope it will spill over into native Android as well. I’m sick of pointless buttons, even if they’re software. On my S8+ I use as many gestures as possible and hide the navigation buttons to maximize screen real estate.

And to each his/her preference.

I have zero issue with the home button. I never saw the objection to it during BB10's (in)glorious entry/exit into the smartphone OS wars and I don't see the objection to it now. Never lost sleep over it. Was never frustrated by it. And I'm perfectly happy with it now.

The fact that I'm more drawn to the 8 Plus, with the home button, than to the X without the home button, shows me that it's never been nor is now a consideration for me.

And yeah....when the title of a thread references an OS, then there is a point being made about it. Otherwise it wouldn't be mentioned.

Former BB10 user here too. Loved it and I too am looking forward to going back to swipes. Wish BB10 had received the app support it needed, it would be the dominant OS now.

Don't you mean who's buying the Palm Pre? I do believe they had these same gestures before BlackBerry OS 10. Please stop with the stupid bull****.

I bought a Passport two months ago. One of the best phones I've ever had. Still using it as my daily.

Being I am a old Blackberry 10 guy and loved the gesture concept, I will be ordering my new iPhone X on 10/27/17 and will be excited to try it out.

I think the major advantage Apple has is they have the capital and engineering resources to really make the gesture concept work.

As much as I loved Blackberry OS10, it was late to the market and never generated the sales numbers to justify its continuation. I am hoping Apple is successful and looking forward to getting the new K1.

I took the plunge and moved my SIM card from my BB Z30 into a new iPhone x.

App selection and device performance aside, I'm feeling a little underwhelmed at the core OS features (and yes, I'm considering native productivity apps like email to be core OS features). I might post more after I've had some time to get used to it, but time doesn't change functionality.

When I initially switched from a Blackberry to the iPhone, I was too much of a Blackberry guy to really enjoy the iPhone experience at the time. I found the iPhone too limited in comparison to the things I could do in my Blackberry. Years later, however, I’m able to do everything I need to do 99% of the time with my iPhone and I don’t foresee myself moving from it anytime soon. Maybe it’ll be the same for you. Maybe not. Just understand that the iPhone and iOS are not a BB Z30 and it’s OS.
