Which file to add movies to?

I used VLC to add movies onto my iPad to watch.
Now VlC won't work, and I can't download it anywhere.
Which file can I put my movies into (using iFunbox) so I can just watch them on my iPad.
I used to add them to the camera roll on my iPad 1 and watch from there but that doesn't seem to work now.
There must be a file like var/mobile/media or something so I can simply drag and drop then watch. Any help would be great. Thanks so much.
