Where do I find the 'event alert' in calendar settings?

my 'alert' section has a line through my selected time. It doesn't go off when I need it to remind me. I can't find where it tells me to go to change the enable button. please help

If someone else set the event and shared it with you, you can't change the alert. If you set up the event you should be able to edit the alert times. Can you show screen shots of it?

Tap "edit" in the upper right corner. Then tap:


Then choose alert time.

Then tap Done.

Settings>> Mail, Contacts, Calendars>> scroll to calendar section... Default Alert Times...

Per event... Calendar>>> open the event and edit, or create a new event... scroll to alert... select...

I did go to these exact setting & selected "none". I've also selected other times, but it didn't change the line strike-through for future events.
I don't know what else to try....
