I got my original iPhone from my local O2 shop after a few months debating whether or not I really needed it. When I got it, I told myself that it would be the last phone I'd ever get as it was so good. Then the 3G came out a week before my birthday. In the run up to 11th July, I kept trying to convince myself that I didn't need another iPhone but on the release date, I was in town and found myself in the Carphone Warehouse trying to get one. They'd run out but I was probably the last person able to reserve a black 16Gb which I picked up the following Monday.
