My kids have sent me requests that appear for a short time, and I used to swipe down for the notification center - but that is not there now. Where did it go and how do I access it?

It's in the same place but now there are 2 screens. One for widgets the other for notifications. Pull down from the top of your screen and swipe left to you if you get it.
