When setting up a new iMessage account, I get "your account cannot be created at this time"

Im trying to make a new apple account for the messages on my mac but when I hit the "create apple id" button, "your account cannot be created at this time" pops up. WHY??????

There may be a systems issue on Apple's end... ??

Did you create an AppleID previously? You can use that... No need for a new one... unless you don't have one.

I was just able to create a new account on mine with no problem using the Google option...perhaps when you were doing it there was a server issue or something.

Restart your Mac and try again today.
