When I listen to Youtube music on my iPhone 5S, why does it use all of my data?

listen to youtube music on my iphone 5S and it uses all my data

I work in a coffee shop with Wi-Fi, and even though I turn my cellular data OFF, it still uses tons of data when I listen to music on youtube. what else can I do to conserve data?

Contact your carrier and see if you have an issue if your logged into wifi.

Check with the Coffee shop and see if they restrict doing some things on their wifi. I've been on some that restrict downloading apps and other heavy wifi using stuff.

How are you checking how much data the phone is using--through your carrier or in the iPhone's settings?
