When I click on the "Accept call" button on FaceTime; it disconnects the call.

This only happens when I am trying to connect with another person in another state.

Maybe there's a problem with the Internet service of either you or the people you're trying to FaceTime with that's out of state. Have you tried initiating the call to see if the connection works?
