For an app to compete with WhatsApp, all your contacts in WhatsApp need to switch over to the alternative.

When it was announced that Facebook had acquired WhatsApp, many people did switch to another messaging app, only to switch back because the majority of their WhatsApp contacts didn’t take the same jump.

Therefore I don’t agree with this article.
