What's your Sonos setup?

If you're like me and started with a small Sonos system, you'll know how addicting (and awesome) Sonos is. I started with the Playbar and a Play:3 speaker, and kept adding to my collection from there. There's no denying the addictiveness of the system, and the ability to easily (I stress EASILY) add speakers makes it sooooo good. On top of it all the desktop and mobile apps make everything so easy to use.

Needless to say I'm a big fan.

To date I have the Playbar in my living room, along with 2 Play:1 speakers behind for surround sound. I have another Play:1 in the bedroom, two Play:3's in my 'game room' and two Play:1's in my office. I'll post a shot of the Sonos player once I get back home.

So - for everyone out there... What's YOUR Sonos setup?

Really looking forward to discussing Sonos in here. I'm addicted. Can't help it.

I've listened to music on a succession of wired stereo systems over the years on vinyl and CDs. When MP3 players became available, I ripped the music from my CDs and carried it around with me. But I still listened to CDs at home. More than a year ago, I decided to simplify my home system and bought a Sonos Play 3. The sound is amazing and it fills my relatively large family room/kitchen area. I liked it so much that I added a Play 1 speaker to my office, which I control through my desktop computer. I too am a Sonos fan and would recommend these speakers for anyone who enjoys great sound.

Totally agree. I was certainly impressed with the sound from the Playbar and Play:3, but was more than impressed with the sound quality on the Play:1. For anyone debating between the Play:3 and Play:1, I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Play:1. Sound quality is tremendous, for much less than the Play:3. All depends on how big of a space you need to fill with your soundtrack of choice.

Funny how I started just a couple weeks ago with a Play 1 for my Wife's store. Previously she had a beats Pill XL but those are recalled because of exploding battery issue. Besides that, she always had a problem with it losing pairing or not streaming from her iPad. I installed a Play 1 and they love it and no issues since.

I decided to get Sonos for home and I got the Playbar. As I get older my hearing is not so great and had a problem understanding dialog (actually I talk to some younger people and they seem to have a similar problem also). Anyways the speech enhancement on the playbar is pretty amazing and is better than this old Vizio soundbar I had. It is also a great sounding speaker for playing Sonos music on. The next thing I am getting is the Sub.

Hey James,

I just purchased my first Play 1 to test it out and love it. I am now trying to figure out how I get rid of my 7.1 surround Denon/Bose setup and replace it with Sonos. Any suggestions?

I'm really into buying a Sonos Play 1 to my bedroom but I'm scared that I might get addicted and end up buying the Playbar to my bedroom TV, a Sub and another Play 1 to make it surround... Still I'm really into the idea of buying one just to try it....

we have a 3.1 in the family room and a Play 1 in our dining room. Still trying to figure out where to put the surrounds for the 5.1 in the living room.

I have decided to go with the play at, a sub, and two play 3 for the surround. Only thing that is stoping me is I think maybe the play 1's would be enough for the surround. Any suggestions?

I would probably go with 1's, personally due to the price. I'm still kind of sitting on how I want to handle these surrounds since I'm one play 1 short. I might swap out the 1 in the dining room for a 3.

Well, went ahead and installed both my Play 1's as surrounds. Man, the 5.1 system is really great. Loving every minute of using it.

I bought a pair of Play 3's (a long time ago before the Play 1 came out) and I love them. The only problem now is I can't find a good place to put them in a stereo pair in my new apartment.

Hopefully you can find a good spot. Stereo pairing works really well. Sounds great!
