Folks,
Just started reading "A Canticle for Leibowitz" classic novel by Walter Miller. It's a an "end of the world" or "after the apocalypse" story. I LOVE these and it got me thinking about what is my favorite of these type books AND what is my favorite book in general? I have a very short list some of my favorites are The Martian Chronicles, by Ray Bradbury, One Second After by William Forstchen, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, and The Stand by Stephen King. These are my favorites.
Out of those my favorite is Stephen King's The Stand. And I prefer the expanded version. Although I have read both. It's one of those "end of the world" stories, BUT done in such a clever way, BUT watching the world end is only the beginning of the story, there's so much more. The struggle between good and evil, and the heroic journey of the characters. It's my favorite book!
So what about you? What's your favorite read? It does NOT have to be an "end of world" story like mine.
