What's the difference if I order Through Apple.com and my Provider?

1) Wanted to know if I pre-ordered my phone through verizon tonight, will I have to do IN-STORE PICKUP or can it be shipped to me?

2) does APPLE ship right-away? what are the chances of me getting my phone earlier than friday?

Don't know bout VZW. Apple ships right away. Before Friday? I'd say slim to none.

I've always ordered thru VZW. They do a terrible job of updating their "order status" on their website, BUT I've yet to have it arrive on any day but launch day

With the iphone 4 verizon shipped most of the first batch of preorders out a little early, idk about the 4s since I bought one come launch day. I am sure either way at latest you will get one by launch day regardless of where you order from.
