What's the 5C like to use every day? Does the plastic mark easily, etc?

My 5 gave up on me so I've ordered a 5c to use until the 6s/7 is available, no point using an upgrade for a 6 at this stage.

What's the 5c like to use every day? Does the plastic mark easily, etc? I've never considered a 5c before so haven't even held one in my hand yet.

My adult daughter has had one for over a year. She has it in one of the "connect four" cases. As far as I can tell, it's quite durable. It does remind me somewhat of the 3G/3GS models.

My wife's been using the 5c for 16 months and likes it. She doesn't want a bigger screen.

Re: New 5c User

I think the 5c would be durable enough but I'd still put a case on it...out of respect.

New 5c User

If your 5 survived without a case, so will a 5c.. I even believe the 5c can take a lot more without case than the 5.

Just my 0,02$

It'll survive without a case but how will it look without a case in a month, two months, 6 months...a year? I know I have issues but the slightest blemish on my devices really does disappoint.

Re: New 5c User

I have a coverless 5s and it looks like it survived wwIII .. But it doesn't bother me.

I think scratches will be less obvious on a 5c because of the mat color they've used. Were it to be a shiny cover like the 3series, that would bother me more.

My daughter has a 5c. She's had it for about 14 months. It's pretty durable but she does use cases.

I've got a friend who's had a 5c for over a year. He doesn't use a case. It's very durable.

It won't break but it will have tiny scratches on the back. It's like any other type of plastic cased product.

That's great, thanks for all the replies. I guess my doubts about the plastic are unfounded. I'm looking forward to it arriving tomorrow.

I had a white iPhone and would indeed mark easily with both scratches and gaining colour from surrounding objects like blue jeans.

Like a plastic iPhone ... get a case and you'll never notice the difference ...
