Well after seeing the keynote I get a bit disappointing that I didn't see an iPhone 5 with a better screen and a new design, I was expecting more from apple...

Anyway I've an iPhone 3GS, should I update to 4S? Or keep my iPhone 3GS until iPhone 5 is released?

I would probably sell the 3GS and get an iPhone 4 off contract from eBay/CL and not use my upgrade. This way it will "feel" like you're getting a "new" phone. You should be able to get a good deal on them now with the 4S on its way.

Agree you should be able to get an i4 cheap once the 4s comes out. I could see apple releasing another iphone before the 1 year time is up I just think they have something up their sleeves and will wow us early next year. Most likely not but hey it could always change after their keynote wasn't given the best of ratings today.

It's only 8-9 months away from the "normal" iPhone release schedule.

Do you really think Apple is going to release an iPhone in June 2012? I doubt it. They won't risk pi$$ing off the folks who are buying now. I don't look for a new phone before next September/October.

It is more about the investors if they start putting pressure on apple they are going to do what the investors want. Most likely if they did and do a redesign I think some would be ticked off but would ultimately welcome it.

Apple always have done things in a special way... I don't think that the investors pressure are going to change something in the apple's release schedule.

January 2007 - iPhone
June 2008 - iPhone 3G - 1 Year and 5 months since iPhone
June 2009 - iPhone 3GS - 1 Year since iPhone 3G
June 2010 - iPhone 4 - 1 Year since iPhone 3GS
October 2011 - iPhone 4S - 1 Year and 4 months since iPhone 4
October 2012 - iPhone 5 - 1 Year since iPhone 4S expected or maybe more...

Investors have alot of pull so I could see them changing it up. This announcement wasn't really special by any means.
