What means iPhone5 model MD297CH/A ? Especially the CH/A ?

Means that is made for Europe (CH - Switzerland & A - Austria), or something totally else ?
My Son buyed last year an iPhone5 on eBay Germany, then never used it, cause was sim locked (carrier locked). We tried to unlock it, tried to contact the seller, to find out to which carrier is locked, but no chance.
I would like to give it once more a try, maybe it's one of the three Austrian carrier the original one ??? Do I have a chance, or CH/A means something else ?
(Unfortunately we live in Hungary)
