What is your impression of naming OS X 10.11 El Capitan?

Going from Cheetah to El Capitan is quite a change so what is your take on it? Do you like it?

Was seriously going to post this, Keith. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

I was kind of "meh" on the name, actually. It doesn't quite roll off the tongue, but if they deliver the goods, I can live with it.

Nope, not liking the name. I would love to know out of all the names they could have chosen why did they pick El Capitan.

I'm guessing El Capitan is to Yosemite as Snow Leopard was to Leopard: refinements over the previous iteration. However there are landmarks at Yosemite that roll better off the tongue, like Half-Dome or even Merced. If they wanted to follow the Leopard/Snow Leopard model they could have called it Yosemite Falls

As a company with no Latin representation they should have just called it captain or something. It seems like they're trying too hard

It's a bad name. I seriously thought it was a joke when he said it until I saw him move on. I'm just referring to it as the latest version of Mac os

You do realize that "El Capitan" is the name of the iconic vertical rock formation inside Yosemite National Park, don't you? SMH

I don't really mind it seeing where its coming from, but I have to admit, it isn't as catchy as previous names.

I can't...I just can't...

As far as the name goes, they could call it Hookie Pookie La La Bologna Pants...as long as it runs well and adds new features, I simply do not care AT ALL what the name of the OS is.

I'll put this out there though, I've got $10 that says we'll see OS X "Tahoe" or "Big Sur" within the next few OS updates.
