Need to jailbreak to then allow me to remove carrier lock

A quick google search will give you the only tool available.

But, I don't recall any software carrier unlock from that era. At that point, people were getting unlocked from a glitch some people knew with the carriers themselves. You might be SOL on that aspect. Which provider is your phone locked to?
