There is a padlock icon with a circle around it next to the battery icon what does it mean

Rotation lock - It means that your screen rotation is locked and won't rotate when you go to turn the phone to landscape. You can toggle it off by swiping up from the bottom of your screen and bring up the control center. It should be the top right toggle next to the moon.
