To those of you who have installed the initial beta of macOS Big Slur, what are your initial thoughts of it? Do you like the look and feel of it?

I am really enjoying it on my iMac (2017, i5, 8GB ram)

It was kinda slow and laggy the first day, but the OS has seemed to “settle in” and it’s been great! Office apps all work perfectly as well. I know some people have been complaining about browsers like Chrome not functioning properly, however.

I’m going to wait for the second beta, then I’ll upload to my workhorse/daily computer (MacBook Pro 15” - 2018, i7, 16gb ram)

The one thing I don’t necessarily like is how transparent Apple made the top menu bar. There are no options to reduce the transparency (that I can find), so if you have a light wallpaper (or even if the top of your wallpaper is light) the menu bar is nearly illegible. - I’ll post a screenshot when I’m back at my computer

I have it installed on my 2017 MacBook Pro and it really runs well. I definitely enjoy the overall look and feel of it, but I haven’t spent the amount of time doing work with it yet. I never imagined me reaching for my iPad Pro in lieu of my MacBook Pro, but that has indeed been happening as of late.

OMG that M4 is and the 666M rims are so effing sexy. I want an F80 M3 sooo bad but for my first BMW I want a F30 335i. Is it a manual?

As for Big Sur I’m loving it so much.

Thank you! It’s a DCT since it’s my daily. But I’m looking at picking up an early 2000s e46 M3 or 330i in manual as a fun/weekend car sometime in the near future.

The 666m rims in black are really gorgeous. I think this car will last the test of time... although I’m already following the G80/2 M3/4. I actually like the renders and the large grills... and the xDrive with 503 horsepower is going to be IN-SANE

Does anyone else using Big Sur have this weird issue with document icons in the finder.

Some are fine, others have that weird computer icon. The issue permeates the entire Finder, and seems arbitrary.

Thankfully it does not affect my ability to use, open, edit, save, etc. the actual files/documents.

I’m really enjoying the look and feel of macOS Big Sur. It’s simple, but well thought out and the experience has been positive. It’s definitely a keeper on my MacBook Pro.
