I will preface this post by saying that this is a show based on real events. Those events are hard for anyone to watch, and most difficult for those that lived through or have intergenerational trauma.
This is a 18+ rated programme.
As a society, we have a responsibility to do right by them, on their terms. There are no excuses for the atrocities we have committed.
Residential schools were an abomination for humankind. And while we are more knowledgeable today than 10 years ago, we are only at the beginning with a very long way to go to correct the committed wrongs.
It is our obligation to educate ourselves, so I strongly suggest for people to watch the series (or movie).
