Speakers vibrate by nature, otherwise they couldn't work. You are just speaking about a light and thin rear case resonating. That's not a defect, since sound doesn't distort in any way.

The on-screen keyboard? You should be able to adjust that with the volume buttons on the side. It will affect other sounds, though, and still won't really be that loud.

Had the 12.9 switched to the 9.7 and now brand new 12.9 again. Couldn't do small.

The 12.9'' caught my eye for sure. The screen is awesome. I love using my 9.7 Pro (and my Air before that) as a reader though and I'm convinced the added bulk from the 12.9'' would be uncomfortable.
