Water Damage! Help!

I

iMore Question

Okay so a week or so ago my little cousin knocked my iPod touch 6 generation into a cup of filtered tap water. I immediately took it out and put it in a bag of rice. I left it in for two to three days, took it out, and tryed to turn it on. When it didn't turn on I tried to charge it. I then proceeded to leave it on the charger over night. I then woke up to a burning sensation. I realized it was my ipod! It was burning hot. I then took it off the charger and it cooled down soon after. I then continued to try to turn it on a couple of times. It is now a week later and it still won't do anything accept get hot when I put it on the charger. I decided to read a post on this website saying not to do anything I just did and I freaked out and am now here! Help please! What do I do!

Welcome to iMore! You throw it in the garbage. It's fried. Sorry to have to tell you that!
