Yes Apple does cover water damage on AppleCare +. It will be a $99 charge and you can only do it twice, I believe.

You can use it as one of the accidental damages with AppleCare plus , of which you are allowed two. I am on the phone with Apple now requesting a refund for AppleCare, and asked them about this topic. Sophia with Apple verified that you CAN use an accidental incident for water damage. It would cost $99, officially.

Can you have Sophia with Apple put that in writing somewhere... it would be great to have when others (per chance) get rejected.

Liquid damage isn't covered under the standard one-year warranty. Apple Care plus does cover liquid damage. I don't see why that would change with the iPhone 7. You can throw your phone against a wall, stomp on it, go number 1 on it, and still use an accidental replacement for it on AC+

You were rejected for water damage?

In Portland Oregon, a fellow Photographer fell into a pond while doing a shoot, and her iPhone was dead. We took it to the Apple Store. She had Apple Care + and they still charged her over $300.

That's not cool.

I am confused. I wonder if maybe she had used up the two repairs on maybe a cracked screen or something before the water incident.

When I called about an AppleCare+ refund the first person who answered said she didn't know how to do that and transferred me to some AppleCare specialist, Sophia. I asked her the question and she said , without hesitation, yes you would be able to use one of the accidental damages. She said the policies have been changed and that a screen repair with applecare+ would be $29, all other damages would be $99.

I hope that I don't have to find out personally. Will just use caution

Without a doubt yes. It is expensive. But the screen repair charge went down this year to $29. Also, you can get a refund for AppleCare+ if you decide you want to trade in the phone after a year. I got back $67 today, well I will get it back in 10 days or so.

I have mistakenly destroyed my phone once or twice and was happy to have it.

Some people don't go with it. I will.
