I think this was answered in a thread a while a ago but I can't find it...

Does anyone know if any known testing has been done on whether a bright white or colored wallpaper uses more battery battery than say a dark or black wallpaper?

Has anyone tested it maybe themselves?

It uses a little more than a darker colored wallpaper since iPhones have LCD backlit screens (the whole screen lights up) rather than LED (only certain pixels light up).

I think it actually makes a bigger difference on amoled screens like on Android. Just keep the brightness at about 20%.
