I have a voicemail that has been on my iPhone for 2 weeks now. I have tried to delete, and it keeps coming back. Did a soft reset, and keeps coming back. I dialed into voicemail to Verizon, but it's not there, only on my phone. Any ideas?

This happened to me last year. Set your phone to airplane mode then delete them. Turn off airplane mode and they should remain deleted.

Thanks for the tip. My work phone is a 6 with the latest iOS and for some reason a vm from m boss won't delete, everytime I delete it, it comes back. I will have to give this a shot.

Voicemail won't delete on iPhone 6 iOS 11.2.2

I have tried the Airplane Mode hack and it does not work. I have a voicemail that is not on the cellular network, but is on my phone and will not delete. Others deleted fine. Have restarted phone several times - no luck.

Same here — I have 2 voicemails that are only on the phone (iPhone 7+, iOS 11.2.5). They are months old. I was able to delete other voicemails that were both older and newer, but not those two. I’ve tried force quitting the phone app and. Then restating the phone and I’ve tried the airplane mode truck, but they always come back. Any other ideas?

After wasting a lot of time with the Verizon Wireless service rep with no results, this did the trick - many thanks.

Love when a tip works that perfectly. Thanks!

Welcome all of you to iMore! When you get a chance, why don't you each take a minute to introduce yourselves here.

This trick worked for me. Thanks so much. It was getting so aggravating that a stupid voicemail would not delete. It’s gone now thanks to you. 👍🏻🙏🏻

You have to switch off both cellular and WiFi access to delete stubborn voicemails on the phone. Switching to Airplane mode may not be sufficient as under certain circumstances it leaves WiFi enabled.
