excellent question but hey - if they can do it, then that solves one huge gripe. Although having to probably pay extra for something Apple should have included out of sheer safety considerations is sad. Headsets are great for hands-free but it kind of defeats the purpose if you still have to dial the phone with your hands. Especially since the iPhone doesn't have external keys for turbo dial (push & hold an assigned button, etc.). Getting to a favorite still takes several pushes and swipes along with having to look at the device. If in my car with my BT headset on, I take one hand off the wheel when safe, push the one external button on my Moto H710, voice dialing kicks in and I'm back both hands on the wheel in literally 5 seconds or less without ever taking my eyes off the road (although I'm one of those folks who limit cell use even with a headset when driving because it's still distracting).
