Interesting question. It seems Apple has largely ignored VR, instead focusing on AR. That being said, I know there are VR headsets and apps available for iPhone. Basically, your iPhone just slides into it and the headset uses its display.
Hopefully someone with some experience with a particular model comes around.

Well, I know it won’t work for me with passive VR goggles. My right eye sees worse than my right eye, so passive 3D and passive VR are out of the question for me. And unless active VR and active 3D come with adjustable focus for both eyes, I guess I’m out of luck.
That’s why I’m thrilled about AR. It just makes more sense to me as a feature overall.

I do. I purchased an inexpensive unit off of Amazon back in April. It's OK, but not great! The one I got is disappointing in that the product description wasn't as thorough as it should have been. Some of the features only work if you have a android. But this was cheap, and I still have fun with it. Mine was around $25.00 USD.

But, with Apple focusing on AR, I'm inclined to wait.
