I've recently purchased the Composite AV cables from apple. As described, they work fine with Apple's own video applications (podcasts and movies), as well as with Netflix. But I've noticed they do not seem to work with other video applications, such as CruncyRoll and VLC. When I try to use the AV cables with these applications, I do get audio through the TV, but no video.
Is there some setting I need to change to get the video portions from these other 3rd party apps? Or is it a case those app developers need to update their software to use the AV cables properly? Afterall, if Netflix, a third app, can do it, why not other applications?
