Used iPhone 6 or new Snapdragon 625 Android phone?

Hi, my friend is selling his used iphone 6 since he upgraded to the x and I really like iOS but I fear that his iphone might be too old (for iphone standards anyways). On the other hand, I could get a phone like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or mi a1 instead but the problem with that is, android updates suck for phones that aren't nexus or pixels.

Oh, and I would be stuck with a bad performing 6, at least I'm able to replace the battery.

My buddy has an iPhone 6, when I tried it it was fairly slow I also showed him this, but once you do the update he said he was not affected by it so for some it’s OK and others took a 40% hit in performance supposedly. Of course it’s up to you, And I’m sure everyone in here is aware of this I just haven’t checked the general forum in quite a while....

Another article said the iPhone 7 was not affected by this

I'd get the redmi phone. I've heard great things about it over on Reddit. Also, u can replace the battery in the iPhone 6 but as u said it is kinda old so it won't get updates that much longer. Check out reviews for the redmi u might like it.

IIRC that news was already defined as fake.
They messed up with throttled iPhone 6.

I don’t like Android as I like iOS, but to be honest I would buy an iPhone 6. The 1 Gb of RAM is a limit with iOS 11.
I would buy an iPhone 6S.

If those are your only options, then I'd go with the iPhone 6, as others have already suggested. I'd definitely replace the battery, and that should last you a while until you're able to afford a newer model of iPhone. Good luck and keep us posted!
