Does anyone know off hand what the usable storage available on the iPhone 6s Plus 64gb after a clean restore?

It can vary depending on he iOS version that is installed and other factors. Some space is always taken by the OS install itself and the formatting of the storage. Can't remember for sure, but I think iOS uses either ext4 or xfs. More likely the latter half think.

Thanks Fit. Mine only has 55.4 gb after a clean install.

Only? 55.4 is close enough to the suggested 56 Gibabytes to say the difference is not worth worrying about. That's like the difference between gigabyte = 10^9 or 2^30 bytes

Since we're on the subject I might as well ask. Why would the same version of iOS take up more (or maybe less) storage on a 128GB device as opposed to a 64GB device?
