Upgrade an unlocked Iphone

Hi all,
Would request your help on a question I have. I have an Iphone 3G, unlocked (I bought it this way, but not sure how it was done), running OS 2.1. I want to upgrade to 2.2 for stability (I usually get kicked out of applications, and GSM network is unavailable sometimes) and functionality (I wanted to use a radio app that require 2.2 and be able to download podcasts directly)

Will my Iphone be locked again if I upgrade?
Will I be able to jailbreak? (still not done)

You must be using a sim unlock then... if you update to 2.2 you will lose your unlock rendering that sim unlock useless. Then you would have to jailbreak and then unlock with yelllowsn0w.

Thanks Bad Ash. It's actually not a SIM Unlock (Turbo sim like..) I think it was originally bought somewhere (US, Europe, no Idea ) unlocked, but it's a gift, though. I happen to live in Morocco, North Africa.

If your phone is legitimately unlocked from Apple then you can upgrade with no issues.
