Updating app on iTunes then syncing

I don't know if it changed when ios7 came out but before I could update an app in iTunes and the next time I synced my phone the app on the phone update. Seems that it doesn't do that anymore. Would there be a setting I need to check for it to happen? I update my iphone to my Mac mini corded.
