"Up Next" widget in Notification Center

What exactly is the purpose of this widget? Looks like it just pulls in any up coming reminders or calendar events for viewing in one place. Is that it? Tapping on an event in this widget just opens the respective app. Just wondered if I'm missing something...

Hmm ok thanks. Not sure I feel that's very useful but I may try it out for a while

It helps remember stuff that might have been forgotten. Especially when it shows up all weekend so I know what will greet me Monday morning.

I like it, and keep it near the top. It makes for a great quick glance of my next calendar appointment.

I was wondering the same why have two widgets ('calendar' and 'up next') when are supposed to show the same thing.
sometimes both of them dont show anything I dunno why!

"Up Next" widget in Notification Center

I thought it was useless at first but now I see how it can be useful.
Yesterday I had an appointment at my bank and it showed the time, the place on a little map and the time it would take to go there.
I know the place so it wasn't useful specifically in that occasion, but I could see its value if I don't know where I go and how much time I need.
