Unlock iPhone?

At the beginning of the year I lost my job and had to file bankruptcy. Unfortunately AT&T was included in my list of creditors and now I'm stuck with a iPhone Xs Max that is just sitting in a box. Is there any way to unlock this phone so I can use it with another carrier?

I am assuming the answer will be "no", because I still owe on the phone (even though I filed bankruptcy). However, I didn't think it would hurt to ask.

Yeah, you would have to pay the phone off first.

Like the others have already said, you're going to be out of luck as long as there is a balance due on the device. AT&T is the only one who can unlock that device.
