I need help unlocking my iphone 5. What do I need to do?

I am assuming do you or did you password protect your phone? If you did you need to enter the 4 number or combo of 4 letters-numbers to unlock it that you chose. If you chose the advanced option and have more than 4 you need to enter them. That is all you do.

I think OP means unlocking his phone from his carrier.

I thought about that as well and I went the way i went. If that is the case you might have been able to answer that only his carrier can do that and depending on the standing he has with his carrier and how long he has been with them, Also if you out of contract a phone call would more than likely have them agree to unlock your phone for you. Sorry you waited so long for an answer either way.
