Unexplained Sounds

My S8 makes the "Hangouts Message" ringtone/notification sound several times a day, but I haven't received a text, or hangouts message, or anything. I don't know why it's making the sound. It's easy to associate a certain sound with a certain app, but how do you determine what app is making a sound?

What phone is the S8? Do you mean the Samsung Galaxy S8? If so you might be better off asking at Android Central.....
