iMore Question

Since the day I've upgraded to iOS 10 I'm able to activate iMessage and Facetime on my phone number but unable to activate it on my email id.
Can you please help me out what should be done in order to get rid of it.
P.S.- I've tried turning on and off them a lot of times and have even formatted my device once.

I'm confused a bit. Your thread title states that you're unable to activate iMessage and FaceTime using what I assume to be your Apple ID. Having said that, in your post, you stated, "....what should be done in order to get rid of it." What are you trying to get rid of?

Anyway, go to Settings -> Messages -> Send & Receive, and then make sure you're signed in with your Apple ID. When the Apple ID appears in the "You Can Be Reached By iMessage At" section, tap on it to place a checkmark next to it. Do the same for FaceTime.
