That would be a boneheaded move by Apple if true. The Key phrase being If True. The numerous deep pocket trolling lawsuits makes any thoughtful thinker realize it’s probably bogus.
But assuming it is true, Apple own up to the mistake and fix it. Apple is a privacy based company. The only one of big tech there is, full stop. Apple even uses fuzzies, sending out random driving direction requests to make sure destination request is too muddled to assign to a user. That’s the key, being able to anonymize data. Apple wants to collect data such as your iPhone technical operations data. They do so with no UUID to keep it anonymized. If they have been recording a UUID or AppleID associated with the data collection, it needs to stop.
