I have a new iPad Air that I am trying to sync with the itunes on my old windows XP so I can add all my music. It wont do it because it says i need to download the newest version of itunes to my pc. Nothing happens when i choose to download new version. Is my pc just too damn old?

My version of itunes is 12.1.1.4 and i need 12.2.2

Yes. Per the iTunes website, it requires Windows 7 or later. One possible thing to try is to sign up for Apple Music (for free, if you haven't tried a free trial). If Apple Music will work on your older version of iTunes, it will allow you to move your current music into the "cloud," and then you could access/download it onto your iPad.
