Trying to decide on my very first smartphone (iPhone 6s or 7).

iMore Question

I want to order my first smartphone (still using a flip) and I?m trying to decide between a 6s (64 or 128GB) or a 32GB iPhone7. I probably won?t be watching videos much. Mostly, I?ll use it for talk, text, apps and photos. So I could go either way with a black or white face.

One issue is that I have ?old eyes?, growing a cataract, need bright light, but sensitive to glare.

What are your suggestions?

Welcome to iMore!

I suggest going with the 7, and not because it is the latest and greatest. I suggest it because of the screen and it being 25% brighter than the 6s. Also because of the better camera on the 7 because you mention you'll be using it for photos.

I would suggest comparing the two side by side. I personally notice no difference in screen brightness or picture quality whatsoever. Consumer Reports found no differences in picture quality either. I'd go with more storage capacity.

If you can afford it, the 7 but like a lot of folks here have been saying, the 6s is still amazing and they're choosing to stick with it over the 7.
