Hi!

I was wondering how do I check my phone compatibility on US carriers?
I would like to know if it would work right off the bat on VZW or with an AT&T sim card, in example.

Thanks =)

He first step is to ensure your existing phone is unlocked so you can swap out the sim. Depending on the model iPhone you have it may not be compatible with every network. For example, a Sprint iPhone 5 won't work on Verizon. Your best bet would be to call the carrier you want to move to and ask them if your phone will work. They'll ask for the IMEI number from the device.

If that doesn't work, carriers are offering some great incentives right now. Verizon, for example, is offering $400 to switch to them and trade in a working device.

Pretty sure verizon Sim only works on their supplied handset for roaming purposes. I'd go tmo or AT&T

I had an unlocked Sprint phone that I moved to Verizon with no problems.

My device is unlocked and I live in Canada.

Is there a way that I could check maybe the bands or if it is a CDMA and/or GSM phone, like with the IMEI.
Does  offers that 'service'?

T-Mobile is great if you will be in a major metro area . But if you are going to be moving around a lot or traveling you might want to reconsider Verizon. T-mo isn't that strong when leaving the city (from my experience in Texas).
