Tracking, direction and speed app

I'm trying to find a simple GPS/Navigation app that will show me speed and direction and also track a trip. I'm looking for something simple.
The idea is that I would like to look down at the phone and see what direction I'm heading and how fast I'm going. And I would also like it to track my trip from point a to point b so I know how far it was.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind spending a couple bucks if need be.
