I'm not overly excited about either but I can see how both would be useful. Kinda need to get my hands on them in order to really experience them. Anyone excited to use either of them?

Well I can see this becoming very useful in real world use. I like the fact that it can be customized. Not a lot interested in the Touch ID. But good for those wanting to use Pay and the added protection.

I love the prospect of it. I am moving from Microsoft ASAP... so this will be new and exciting. Just saw how photoshopping is much easier with the touchbar assistance.

If using the unit in a dock, with external monitors, keyboard etc. the TouchBar would be pointless, no?

Maybe I need to try it in an Apple shop, to see and possibly appreciate what the big deal is...

The Touch ID is basically a “Mini Apple Watch.” There’s a great article on The Verge about it.

The Touch Bar has a 25 MB RAM disk that's used to boot and control the hardware.

I had an IBM PS/2 Model 50 that had 1 MB of RAM. So this small portion of this computer’s keyboard has more RAM than my entire computer had circa 1988. Mind-boggling.
