Can somebody explain how these work? There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for the rankings... last week I received 5 or 6 new THANKS... but was no where on the list for most of the week... suddenly today (with NO new THANKS received), I'm at the top of the list. And this isn't the first time that I've seen this situation. I am also at the top of the TOP POSTERS list today... but I haven't posted more than about 10 messages in the last several days.

Is there a method to this madness?

Or is it more madness than method?

From my loose observation of such things it seems to involve a rolling computation over a number of days - but I've yet to figure out how often it updates, or how many days the look-back is...

The old forum software used to be a 7 day view... but no clue how this one works... voodoo?
