I've got a nice, boring in office day tomorrow with about 1 hour's worth of work to do all day...so needless to say, Mountain Lion is going to be explored like it's going out of style tomorrow!

There's a lot to be said for having less versions of the OS to support. By making the updates so cheap, it encourages people to upgrade...

I've read somewhere that something like 80-90% of Mac users are on the latest version... whereas Windows users tend to lag behind... perhaps it has to do with cost ... and maybe the enterprise issue factors in, too.

Cost has to factor in. Leopard (OS X 10.5) was $129/copy to upgrade. Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) dropped to $29 for up to 3 computers. When Lion (OS X 10.7) came out, it was $29 for up to 5 computers... and Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) will be $19 for "all" - though I suspect it will actually still be limited to 5, as that is the Mac App Store limit...

Hard to say... 10:00 am Pacific time seems to be a magical hour for Apple... but I have not seen anything specific regarding Mountain Lion.

Because of the price, I am going to assume a lot of people will be downloading the OS all throughout the day tomorrow and therefore, I will probably wait and download this this coming weekend or early next week. By that time, I'd like to think the download should be very quick.

4+ Gigs? Sheesh! Well, despite its size, I'm still grateful that my early 2009 MacBook is still worthy to be among the devices able to upgrade to Mountain Lion.

That would be awesome!! Sadly I am a camp director over the summer and don't really spend much time in the office. Oh well I guess I will download tomorrow night.

I am definitely going to update! I've been pretty excited about it. Heck, I'm still finding little gems in OS X; I've only had my MBP since January.

The download probably won't show up til after early morning sometime is what I am thinking.
