Well now you have. A Day in the Life of 3G | PCWorld

Quote: "n Novarum's tests for us, Verizon Wireless demonstrated a good mix of speed and reliability. Across more than 20 testing locations in each of the 13 cities we tested, Verizon had an average download speed of 951 kbps. Verizon demonstrated good reliability, too; the network was available at a reasonable and uninterrupted speed in 89.8 percent of our tests.

Sprint's 3G network delivered a solid connection in 90.5 percent of our 13-city tests. Sprint's average download speed of 808 kbps across 13 cities wasn't flashy (at that speed, a 1MB file downloads in 10 seconds), but dependability is an important asset. The Sprint network performed especially well, both in speed and in reliability, in our test cities in the western part of the United States.

The AT&T network's 13-city average download speed in our tests was 812 kbps. Its average upload speed was 660 kbps. Reliability was an issue in our experience of the AT&T system: Our testers were able to make a connection at a reasonable, uninterrupted speed in only 68 percent of their tests.

Somewhat surprisingly, our testers also found that the "bars of service" readings on their phones were rarely an accurate predictor of the quality of the ensuing connection. In most places and with most wireless providers, the "bars" did little more than indicate whether the phone had access to some service or to no service."

This test is consistent with what new iPhone tests are showing. Sprint is the slowest. But at least -- in their 13 city test -- Sprint was the most reliable. With Verizon literally being right behind. And ATT being way behind. And Sprint has said in the past (this is when I actually heard about this study) that based on independent study they are the most reliable.

All I can gather from your posting is that you can use your internet or download something 90% of the time. I will go read the actual article but from what you quoted it mentions nothing about call quality, dropped call ratio and there is no mention of the large majority of Sprint employees that are rude and unknowledgeable for when you have an issue. I'm probably going to stop replying now, we will never agree and like I said I did mis read your title and I thought you were a new customer that just came over for the iPhone and so that's why I was like what would you know within a day lol. If you have had them for 10 years and have great service, I am jealous!

I will say that I misread your thread title when I first posted, I thought it said "new to sprint customers" so I had assumed you were new and there was no mention of the length of time you have had your service. When I lived in VA I did have better service so maybe Sprint should be used by people that live in areas like that and Kentucky. I do find it funny that it works better in areas like that than in places like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and other areas throughout Southern California and according to Sprint.com I am under the best coverage but like I said tell that to everybody I drop calls on and when I can't use my service. I went to Sedona AZ and couldn't use my phone for the week I was there either and when I called Sprint about it when I got home all they did was tell me they were working on building new towers. I also never said one carrier is the best for everyone, I am just speaking from personal experience as someone who lives in and travels to major cities.

It's cool. The other day I totally didn't see the first post of someone's post and was kind of confused until I went back and re read the entire post.

Any who, the thing about maps is they are never very accurate. Any company. And with Sprint part of the problem is they use such high frequencies so their "map" looks larger then it really is. I do find it odd in those cities Sprint doesn't work well, but I do believe it because as I mentioned, every carrier has places where they just aren't going to work well. It's unfortunate but the truth.

Thats another thing I don't understand. Maybe I just have good luck, but Sprint has never given my bad customer service. I work at a call center so every time I call them I expect good service -- it's really not hard to do. Only thing that I don't like is they don't put you on hold, they put you on mute. I think thats rude and I constantly think the call dropped. But they have always been polite and always worked through my issues. Of course, I don't call in about technical support often, I generally go to a Sprint store when having phone issues so maybe thats the problem.

And that is true that the article is pretty much talking about 3G data, but I was actually talking mostly about 3G data being reliable. I do think voice quality is good and that the voice service is reliable, but I haven't actually read something about it compared to the others.

If you're going to make a comment, maybe you should read the whole statement or work on your reading comprehension as I also made it perfectly clear as to why I haven't left Sprint jesus.

And if you going to be an nasty hostile little *** maybe you shouldn't participate in internet forums.....

Again you're with Sprint and upgraded and signed another 2yr contract, so it must work for you otherwise you're pretty dumb to shell out any money to a company that isn't providing you the service you expect....Period...

If it doesn't work you shouldn't be using it.

LMAO hypocrite much? You have A LOT of nerve trying to tell me I am rude by calling me a "nasty hostile little bleeped out" person and "dumb"... if you think name calling and being rude is anyway to put somebody in their place in regards to how they come across you need to get a clue. I do think what you wrote is a perfect description for yourself, but for me sorry you're sadly mistaken. I'd personally suggest you spend less time on the internet and maybe you woudn't be such a troll :) I won't be responding to you any longer but please feel free to call me more names and prove me right again!
