I have a jailbroken iphone 4s and I am currently running 5.1.1, I downloaded tinyumbrella 5.11.01 but it would not load for some reason. Doing more research I see that version 6.01.01 is available. I have NEVER saved my SHSH blobs before and up until last week, I knew nothing about them. With that said, my newbie question of the day is what version of tinyumbrella should I get?

You don't have to be jailbroken to save your blobs?use the latest TU to save the blobs for 6.0.1. The poster above just meant you could no longer save your 5.1.1 blobs, because Apple isn't signing those anymore.

You can only save blobs for whatever Apple is signing at the moment.

You said you're already jailbroken on 5.1.1. Open Cydia and look at the top row of the home page. The firmwares you see listed there are the ones Cydia has saved the blobs for. There's a good chance 5.1.1 will be among them.

I checked CYDIA, 5.1.1 and 6.0.1, do I need to get the latest version of tinyumberella?

Just grab redsn0w, stitch the blobs and make a custom firmware and then restore to it. You can find plenty of tutorials on the web (even in this forum) on how to do that.
