The same update fails every day and wants to be installed again the next day... every day... day...

I have a certain OSX update which pops up every day.
Every time I try to install it, after it finish restarting and all it says it failed.
It's every day like this for the past several months...
My iPhoto also fails to run and crash completely...
I was advise to reinstall the OS itself?
Not sure if I should bother or just wait for the next OS to become gold and hope it will fix this mess...

What should I do?

Back up your files, pics, music and other data onto an external drive or to a cloud service then reinstall the OS from scratch.

Hey! Which update are you trying to install? Is this being done through the App Store?

Have you considered using a combo updater? It's a little less drastic that re-installing your OS.
