The person I am face timing can't see me

Since I downloaded iOS 9 I can see the person I am face timing yet they have a blank screen

1. Is there something covering your screen.
2. Are you using the front facing camera?
3. Are you certain that the person is not just screwing with you?

At the top of theFaceTime window, is Audio or Video selected? If Audio, switch it to Video...
